Employee health and wellness is a growing focus in the design of work environments. EnSite provided campus and master planning services to the Lee County School District for a conceptual wellness plan for their existing South Bus Depot that brings together a spectrum of healthful opportunities in one inviting setting.

The school board sought to promote wellness through elevating standards for campus and facility design. The plan for the South Bus Depot answers that call by providing for staff to enjoy the proven benefits of exercise, social interaction and recreation.

The campus plan includes exercise stations, fitness trails, walking trails, rain gardens, shade structures and created wetlands. Each element of the plan is connected to form a cohesive evidence-based wellness campus. The plan engages both the built and natural environment as a vehicle to support human health, wellbeing and comfort while reducing energy consumption and facility lifecycle costs.
