The vision for McNew Ranch, more than 1,500 acres of land between U.S. 41 and Interstate 75, brings together residences, commercial buildings, mixed-use buildings, industrial space and green space in a walkable environment. The campus plan deftly consolidates those elements within a half-mile radius, with the rest of the land dedicated to environmental sustainability and recreational exploration.

The call for parks, open spaces, and environmental restoration and buffering is at the forefront of the community plan. An interconnected network of these components throughout the community will encourage balanced living and recreation and help restore and maintain natural drainage patterns.

The open spaces and parks will vary in size from simple, small urban greens with benches, canopy trees and lawns, to parks with various opportunities for physical activity, to naturalized open spaces with trails, boardwalks and interpretive sign programs. These places create the environmental network that weaves the fabric of the community together.
